ArtwalkTV started on Twitter in 2009, when @kim — Kim Sherrell — had a simple idea: bring the art walk online. Once a month, she'd host a virtual art crawl on Twitter using the #ARTWALK hashtag, inviting people from around the world to share new work by contemporary artists in real time. What started as a way to have fun online became something genuinely useful — a live, global conversation about what was happening in art, music, fashion, and film, right now.

In 2013, ARTWALK evolved from a monthly event into something more ambient — an always-on channel where anyone could tune in at their own pace. The question it was always trying to answer stayed the same: "What's happening right now?"

This site is the latest iteration of that original impulse. ArtwalkTV is now a global directory of art walks, film festivals, art fairs, fashion weeks, music festivals, literary events, comedy, and performance — updated by the community, free to use, with no accounts, no ads, and no algorithms deciding what you see.
